Al-Barakat was established in the year 2003 providing logistics services initially for the Oil sector companies, and in 2005 Al Barakat Golden General Trading & Contracting Company was incorporated to provide various specialized services for the energy sector.

Al-Barakat's business activities are grouped into four divisions: Logistics, Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation & Chemical Division.
